About me.

September 25, 2022

i’m excited to share this new collection as it has a bit of everything in it: from mugs, bowls, ashtrays, candles, cups, and more all finished in some of my favorite glazes; i’m pleased with how these vessels turned out.

i started making pieces for this collection back in May, and planned to have this sale earlier this summer but majority of the vessels were made and finished over the last 6 weeks; it took a while to settle on what pieces to make, which clays & glazes to use, and for me to make time for the process of it all. remember, i’m only moonlighting as a ceramicist. (lol)

like most creative tasks, throwing clay can be very therapeutic. what i’m starting to recognize and appreciate most is there’s a level of concentration and focus that’s present in order for me to make the same pieces, over and over, which ultimately strengthens discipline.

moving forward, the plan isn’t to take as long producing the next sale, but we’ll see. Allah knows best.

as always, my hope is that these vessels are useful.

my name is Jihad, some call me Hadi. originally from Atlanta, i’m a part-time ceramicist working near Boston and have been throwing clay since April 2021. the idea came to me towards the end of 2020, during a time where i needed a creative outlet. although working with my hands has been a life goal for some time, i can’t say i saw ceramics coming. after noticing bowls, mugs, and candles were things i use in my daily life i began to get more curious about the process of making pottery.

aside from books and youtube, i’m self taught and have made well over a hundred vessels to date; i’d say about 1/3 of which aren’t useful and will be intentionally destroyed to relieve stress someday, another 1/3 have been gifted to family and friends, and the latest 1/3 make up the current shop inventory. i’ve also kept a few for myself because, ownership.

my hope is that these vessels are useful.
